Drumroll.... Our new webshop has opened!! Story-time!

First of all, let me wish all of You a Happy Easter with a cute and soft Pad-rabbit I made!

So how shall I begin..

A few years ago my grandmother and me were talking about life during the second world war. How they lived their everyday life, or at least tried to maintain their standard of living next to these new situations when German and Russian soldiers were around them and affected their lives daily.

Hearing it from a person who actually lived in this situation is always more effective than reading about it in schoolbooks, I think. Anyway, she told me lots of interesting stories and sooner or later we started talking about living in that era as a woman.
I asked her what did the women do when they got their periods for example, and she told me how did they saw pads for themselves, gathering together in a women's circle and talking, sawing, having a nice time together, where only women were welcomed.

That time I got the idea to refresh this method and soon I started researching and testing fabrics, and when I started thinking about taking this project serious, I turned to the person I trusted the most in her profession.
That was Judit, who I got to know in the design university we both went, but she studied textile design, and me graphic design.
She was also amazed about my idea, refreshing the way how my grandmother used to do, but as always, we had to make some modifications, so that the will-be product can be more comfortable and practical, and of course long-lasting! Since that was my goal from the beginning.

So long story short, around one year ago, my grandmother died in the age of 90, and I thought about honouring her life she shared with me, and I had the chance to be a part of, I named these products after her name. Her full name is Emília Keszey, but when I was young I pronounced her name as Emilla, and sooner or later everyone from the family and from her little village, in Óhid called her like that.

Yesterday I was by someone who could help me to get my older pictures from my old harddrives, because I was just storing them in a little box since my PC didn't work and I had no chance to get my pictures back from them. At least I thought so, until he didn't help me yesterday.
So checking my old data and pictures, I found some really nice pictures from my grandmother too!

So Csaba, if you read this, I can't thank you enough for your help!!

Here's a picture of my grandmother, Emilla, taken in 2004 in her court.

Now after two years of testing our new healthy pads with over 20 girls, I proudly announce the webshop where you can see and get these products I so much care about!

So here it is:

Of course it's in two languages, Hungarian and English, just search for the flag, and you are good to go:-)

We also launched a two-languaged Facebook site, and an Instagram page. Like it, follow it, if you want to get the newest informations immediately.

And for more information we launched a blog too. This is yet only in Hungarian, but I'm working on the translation so soon we'll come up with the English version as well.

And now, time to show you the pictures!!

Enjoy, love, share, and use!!!!

Designing the Fourth Dutch Bookday's poster

I was asked to create a poster for the bookday in Budapest that will be all about nice Dutch books!
It will be on the 10th of May from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Kelet Kávézó and Gallery.
So I thought I'll do something not what people expect me to do for a bookday, but something that really interesting and unusual in the same time.

For the book that I used for the background, I have traded it to use, and the price was a good beer! so thank you again, hope it's going to be a fair-trade! :-)

Here are some werks, I'll post the finished version as soon as I get the approval. :-)

Until then, stay tuned and enjoy!

Okay, I think the finished version will look something like this. :-)

And my final idea!

Leuk? :-)

.oOo. UPDATE!!! .oOo.

Here's an article about the upcoming bookday an my posterdesign on the Hongarije Vandaag Magazine:

On the book day, I will prepare some exclusive surprises for the visitors. Those stickers will be a free gift for everyone who comes!

New design for the Tulipán Kindergarden Summer Camp!

So since the camp is going to be held in the summer, I thought this time the design and the figures should look a bit lighter and sketchier (does this word even exist in English?) So all in all I wanted the new posters and characters to look more hand-drawn than vector-created.
I started working first on the characters and than I put together the Kindergarden's Summer Camp header on Facebook, and I also finished with their poster and flyer.
Hopefully the people will like it as much as the earlier designs for the company I made.

Enjoy, love, share!

And a little music to set the mood:

 Facebook header:

And the poster + flyer:

New versions are on the go!

I made other versions of the poster/flyer and the FB header, plus a bianco paper for writing or for kids to get creative and draw some things on the blank area.

My first ever exhibition in Utrecht, The Netherlands!

I'm very excited in these days, because I'm participating in a so called Magyar Kiállítás (Hungarian Exhibition) in Utrecht.
23 Hungarian artist will show their artwork to the world. Unfortunately I didn't have so many paintings "on stock" but still 11 works were selected from me to display.
They are mostly older works of mine, but I'm very happy that they liked what I did back then as well.
The opening ceremony will be on the 6th or April according to an article that became a hit between Hungarian and Dutch art-lovers all over the internet. This was written by Tom de Smet, and I can't be more grateful for him publishing about us in his online newspaper, the Hongarije Vandaag.
So Dear Tom! Thank you again, and again...! :-)

Here's the article, in Dutch language:

I include some artworks that will be displayed on the show. These were made between 2002 to 2009.

Enjoy, love, share!!

.oOo. UPDATE!! .oOo.

Finally the opening ceremony is over, and although I couldn't be there in person I saw a video about the way they arranged the paintings, but I'm not sure if it is visible for everyone since it is on Facebook. But the link is here:

And here are some pictures of the installing and final arrangment of the showroom. Enjoy!

The Crow and the Apple - or let's just say, when three people with good chemistry meets and cooperate, but has a lack of time

I'm not sure when did we have this project, but if I recall, it was around january in 2012.
Kálmán Gasztonyi studies in the University of Theater and Film Arts in Budapest, as a screenwriter and back then he had to work on a story that was either good for children and for adults.
He called me and my friend Andrea Vékony up, and asked us if we'd like to participate in this task and create our imaginations as illustrations of his story.

Kálmán's story was really remarkable and we enjoyed bringing it visually alive, even though we had about 2-3 days to finish with 30 pictures. We worked mostly digitally: they are digital collages and its modifications with some hand-drawn sketches.

I hope I'll have the chance to write a brief translation about the story itself, but until then, enjoy the pictures!
